The aperture width (labeled w in the figure below) is the distance between two adjacent lines of meridian or latitude, measured at the middle of the projection plane.
Warp: All threads that run lengthwise in a woven fabric.
Weft: All the threads that pass through the fabric when weaving.
The wire diameter (d) is the width of the wire in the woven cloth. (Thread diameter may vary slightly during weaving.)
Pitch (p) is the distance between the midpoints of two adjacent wires. Indicates the sum of aperture width (w) and wire diameter (d).

Material: The user specifies the choice of material with respect to:
A.) The final application and requirements of the wire cloth, including resistance to environmental corrosion, suitability for food products, etc.
B.) Any further processing, including suitability for shaping, welding and surface treatment, etc. Materials should be designated in accordance with appropriate standards or, if none exist, according to commercial specifications.
